Pozo Organic Farm Owner/Farmer
Pozo (Santa Margarita)
I am pretty much retired from commercial farming and grow for my family and a few friends. My wife is in charge of poultry with just a couple egg customers and
sells chicks and some mature producing hens...She specializes in heritage birds especially the Partridge Chanticler. I am past President and current Board member of the SLO Food Co-op. In 2002 we started Clark Valley Organic Farm and Horse Board on 80 acres in Los Osos, CA and started one of the first CSA programs in SLO County.
We sold the property to Central Coast Polo and turned over the farming operation to Los Osos Organic Farm and started Pozo Organic Farm in 2010. We still farm organically (but no longer sell certified organic produce) at our all solar home and solar-powered shop and water pumping system. We pump water up to a series of tanks atop a nearby 100 foot+_hill and do not need a pressure pump system. We are able to discuss various irrigation pumping ideas...all using solar energy.
