Welcome to the 35th annual California Small Farm Conference, a week of learning, inspiration and movement-building. Our hybrid conference features over 50 online workshops, videos, and interactive forums, as well as in-person gatherings around the state. Admission is on a sliding scale. Please pay what you can to help make this event possible and accessible to everyone. All events are virtual except those listed "Gathering" towards the end of the week.
Consumer demand for locally grown products is increasing while smaller farms face increased scrutiny from state and local regulatory agencies, even as state legislatures begin to lessen the regulatory burden. In this workshop, we will explore federal, state, and local regulations that particularly impact small farms. Topics include the Federal Meat Inspection Act and Poultry Products Inspection Act, state regulation of raw dairy, FSMA safety regulations, Right to Farm laws, and even the use of Livestock Guardian Dogs.
