About me
Heather grew up in the Yuba-Sutter area and agriculture has always been a big part of her life. As a Community Education Specialist, she is growing the UCCE Sutter-Yuba Climate Smart Agriculture Program. She enjoys assisting farmers and ranchers with technical assistance for grants that implement climate smart practices that meet their needs and help improve the environment. Heather graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Agricultural Science and a minor in Animal Science. After graduating Heather started working as an Irrigation Design Engineer. In her younger years, while going to Yuba College she was an intern at Tollcrest Dairy in Yuba County. Heather also worked for the State Processing Tomato Advisory Board (PTAB) she graded tomatoes at 3 locations in Sutter and Colusa Counties. While Heather attended Cal Poly, she came home during the summers to work for the California Canning Peach Association (CCPA) as a Field Representative. Heather would meet with farmers, check their fruit, get tonnage totals, collect spray reports, and report back to the office where the information gets relayed to the cannery.
